On 19 August I spoke about the economics of coral reef ecosystems at an Ocean Exchange webinar. It was great to learn from Sam Teicher of Coral Vita about his company’s coral reef restoration projects.
My presentation was based on The Economist Group’s latest study on building a sustainable ocean economy by 2030. The report includes several sections that highlight the importance of coral reefs for building a sustainable ocean economy, notably relating to the vital climate-ocean relationship, eco-tourism and blue finance.
