We are in the decade of action on sustainability. COP26 focused on major pledges: from ending deforestation and slashing methane emissions to phasing out greenhouse gas-emitting cars and agreeing rules on carbon markets. AnĀ Economist Impact surveyĀ in 2021 revealed that 69% of global businesses had set a net-zero goal, while almost three-quarters (74%) planned to have reached this goal by 2025 and about 90% were optimistic about the outcome. Now is the time to turn these commitments into action.

Communicating the benefitsā€”as well as challengesā€”of embarking on sustainability initiatives, based on evidence and transparency, is crucial in overcoming greenwashing and creating real-world impact. This creates huge opportunities for marketing agencies and PR professionals to tell compelling stories of how business can be a force for good. What are the top sustainability and climate trends to watch in 2022? How can marketing teams tell compelling solutions-oriented stories? How can greenwashing be avoided?
